Kangaroo is truly cool Australian animal. It has cool muscles, can stand on its tale and keeps the babies in a "purse". What else do we know?
  • Kangaroos can hop around quickly on two legs or walk around slowly on all four.
  • Kangaroos can swim.

  • On land kangaroos only ever move their hind legs together, however in water they kick each leg independently to swim.

  • Kangaroos are herbivores. They eat grasses, flowers, leaves, ferns, moss and even insects. Like cows, kangaroos regurgitate their food and re-chew it before it is ready to be totally digested.
  • Baby kangaroos are called ‘joeys’.
  • There are more kangaroos than humans in Australia. They are the national symbol of Australia and appear on postage stamps, coins, and aeroplanes.
<![CDATA[Unique animals from Australia: the koalas]]>Sun, 05 Jul 2015 18:10:00 GMThttp://bookatour.weebly.com/blog/unique-animals-from-australia-the-koalas
People used to incorrectly refer to koalas as “koala bears.” But koalas are actually marsupials, closer related to wombats and kangaroos.
Koalas live in eastern Australia, where the eucalyptus trees they love are most plentiful. They rarely leave these trees, and their sharp claws and opposable digits easily keep them aloft. They doze during the day, tucked into forks and nooks in the trees, and can sleep for up to 18 hours.
When not asleep a koala usually eats eucalyptus leaves, especially at night. Koalas do not need much water as they get most of their moisture from leaves.
Koalas live separately in their own home ranges. A home range consists of suitable trees that provide food and shelter and overlaps slightly with other koalas’ home ranges. Koalas define their territories by making scratch marks on trees; males also secrete a sticky brown substance from a scent gland in their chests that they rub on the bark.
Koalas can live around 10-15 years, and they have only a few natural predators, including dingoes, large owls, eagles, and goannas, which generally only target juveniles.

<![CDATA[Best time to visit Peru]]>Mon, 22 Jun 2015 20:17:16 GMThttp://bookatour.weebly.com/blog/-best-time-to-visit-peru
People often ask us when is the best time to travel to Peru? And we have the answer, even several answers as this country is big and its physical characteristics vary.
If you are travelling to coast area it is hot and sunny between December and March (summer) and the weather becomes cooler since April and till November. You can swim all year round, but the water is always rather cool.
Speaking about Andes, the weather is really rainy from December to March, and in June starts the warmer and relatively dry period that lasts till September. Climate in jungle has similar pattern though it is hot all year round, the rain is heavier and more frequent.
To sum up, the best time to visit the coast is around January when it’s hot, and the mountains and jungle are at their best after the rains, from May until September.
